New project: First scratch built model!

It has been an age since I posted anything on this blog! In true hobbyist tradition, despite having started a billion other projects and done next to nothing on them, I have started working on my very first scratch built model!

A while ago, I got myself a crew of Eureka pirate teddies and my husband suggested I make a ship for them. Of course, I've never built anything myself so I will be needing some tips from him, but I will be doing the work myself.

Below is a pic of the basic shape of it, made from polystyrene foam and balsa wood:



Hope to do some more work on it soon!

But for now, a visit to CanCon is on the cards - I wonder if we'll find any interesting bits and pieces?

      Will post up a pic sometime this week. And some pics of our CanCon haul! Was a bit of an expensive weekend, we spent that much just at Eureka :-/

      Yes, we ended up leaving home later than we planned - were you there very long? We got there around 1pm on the Saturday.
