Bonnie & Clyde vs Werewolf

So, we haven't gotten around to a game yet. BUT I did manage to finish up Bonnie's base with a cute little addition - meet Fifi, the toy bulldog. As you can see from the pics below, Fifi is always by Bonnie's side in her crusade against the supernatural, distracting the enemy with her barks and bites so Bonnie can finish the job!

Oh, and of course, there's Clyde too:

And here they are battling a werewolf Christian painted:

That's the end of Bonnie and Clyde for now! Will put up some more pics when we actually get around to a game, but for now, I will see which new projects I can find a bit of time for!

(pics taken by Christian, against some of his scratch built terrain and a photo of the sky I took some time ago!)

Skarloc's Woof Elf Archers

Hello all,

Got a nice big parcel this morning and inside was ... Skarloc's Wood Elf Archers! The box and the minis within are in mint condition!

Very excited to get working on these on the weekend!

Alas, we are notorious for jumping about from project to project: my Empire of the Dead painting of LAM VSF figures is now on hold so as to progress on our Warhammer Fantasy 3rd edition project. My forces will include some old Marauder Dwarves and other OOP bits and pieces, as well as some allied and/or mercenary (as yet undecided!) ogres (pic 1), some old mounted Wood Elves including a general (probably mount him on a warhawk), and none other than the Skarloc's set (pic 2) that turned up today.

Progress pics to come when available!

Handmaidens of the Everqueen

CanCon 2012 led to the acquisition of the beginnings of a Warhammer High Elf army ... I left having purchased some older figs of the White Lions of Chrace, as well as the newer GW boxes of the Dragon Princes of Caledor and Lion Chariot. Totally awesome figures that made me excited about collecting High Elves!

Recently, Christian and I discovered Maiden Guard and, of course, I immediately decided I wanted some. Who wouldn't want some kick-ass warrior maidens in their army?

I was lucky to unwittingly purchase the champion in a small group I bought on eBay last week, and I just acquired the horn blower as well! I am only missing three out of the nine minis (including the Everqueen herself, Alarielle). Check out these great minis below, I am now only missing Maiden Guard 3, the Standard Bearer and the queen:

I think these will be great fun to paint and I am planning on building my army around the Maiden Guard and Lothern Sea Guard units ... will see how I go with that!

New photos of Bonnie

Took some more pics this afternoon of my Bonnie mini ... hopefully these show the paint job better than last night's photo!

Bonnie

So, I finally got around to painting Bonnie, from the LAM Bonnie & Clyde set. Not totally happy with the skintone (was a bit frustrating getting the colour right, not having all my usual selection of paints available) but am pretty happy with the check pattern on her skirt. Might need a touch-up here or there ... I took some photos, but they all turned out pretty bad, so I've just put this one up to give you an idea:

Hopefully you can see some of the detail. Will take more pics and add ASAP. Feedback welcome :-)

Painting progress ...

Small amount of progress on my painting over here in Malaysia. My weekend was taken up by lots of shopping trips, so didn't end up getting anything done on the mini front.

Here is a progress shot from last night (some base colours on Bonnie fig and some more colour on the pilot, "Scooter"):

Selamat pagi!

Good morning and greetings from Malaysia! Work has sent me over to train some people for three weeks, so I decided to take a painting kit along with me:

I'm hoping to get some time to paint a Bonnie figure from Lead Adventure Miniatures, as well as a couple of minis I started AGES AGO and never finished:

The above is what I've done so far. And here's a before shot of Bonnie, with cobblestone base sculpted by Christian:

Next stop: Clyde

Hello all,

So the title is probably only funny (yes, I know it's lame!) to people living in countries that actually have a station called Clyde, but what the heck?

My first completed VSF mini "Clyde" from the Bonnie & Clyde blister by Lead Adventure Miniatures. A great figure and really fun to paint:

The coat is looking a bit dark in these pics ... it is a navy blue, but ever so slightly lighter than you see here.

My next mini will be Bonnie from the same set. Then I was thinking of trying the Expedition to Wonderland pack from LAM as well ... Bonnie & Clyde will lead a vampire hunt in Empire of the Dead (rules to be acquired) on a "dockside town" board Christian is working on. For Alice, though, I was thinking a diorama Tim Burton-style ...

Deserter ...

So, it turns out I found a spear-frog that had gone AWOL ... so my infantry has not been completed! *sigh*

I will endeavour to discipline (paint and base) this deserter over the weekend so I can get my photo done!

Leaps and bounds!

Okay, so our Anzac Day painting plans didn't end up going to plan ... I did get some painting done on my dwarf adventurers, though they are sadly lacking in skintone detail to date (really must get onto that!).

My froglets didn't get finished either, though the good news is that I finished basing them yesterday! While King Ribbidibit's float and the frog cannon are still being drafted, my froggy infantry are ready to march, led by the misleadingly delicate-looking Princess Romina.

Next project, Supercity! And really want to finish the Z scale train project we started about two years ago - I think we're seriously in need of a novelty coffee table in the lounge room!

Painting day!

Okay, the plan for today is to paint as many miniatures as possible! Don't know how we will fare with this challenge, but this is my plan:

- Finish highlights on a bunch of Eureka warrior frogs
- Base said frogs
- Finish details and base a group of dwarf adventurers
- Paint a few pulp figs
- Paint a couple of Lead Adventure VSF figs (Bonnie & Clyde)

Let's see how I go! Hopefully I will have some pics to put up soon!

Supercity

So, didn't get around the finishing any entries for LPL ... Alas, maybe next year.

But at least some progress on a new project ... My first real attempt at building terrain is just around the corner! In the pipeline is a 2'x2'(?)table for playing Supersystem. Thinking of having a futuristic theme (yay hover cars!) with a nod to the retro style buildings of Marvel comic fame.

This is the game plan (haha pun intended) below:

Maybe a cafe will go next to the news building, and maybe the "tall building" will become a basketball court.

Lead Painters League

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted anything!

Unfortunately other (non-painting) projects have kept me pretty busy lately, but seeing as I have a little time now I thought I'd enter the LPL this year! Good excuse to get me painting the seven thousand Eureka teddies and frogs I've purchased over the past year. Not to mention the three and two halves Warhammer/WH40K armies I have/have been acquiring! :-S

Planning on doing some old Citadel dwarves for my first round - a good bunch of dwarf "adventurers". Alas, no pics until after LPL begins ...

Anyway, pics of my first-ever fully based miniature coming soon! ('bout time too!)
